THE MAKING OF A DEMON (1)
By Adoki Favour Igoni
Please don't judge me,
stop pointing fingers at me and whispering silently whenever I walk pass you in the street.
See,
it wasn't my intention
to give my heart the permission
to be a bank of depression
suffering from the oppression
of this addiction
that sprang out from the seed planted in me, by the demon who ripped me off my innocence even before I knew what it was.
This seed that has refused to wither
growing in all weather,
This seed that left me battered and shattered,
This seed that gradually turned me into a shadow.
This seed that made ME a DEMON
So cry not if I haunt you,
Curse me not if I make you feel what I felt at the early stages of my transformation,
For all must go through what I went through
ALL MUST BECOME DEMONS.
